Yesterday, I mentioned share with you about possible viruses on coupons.com. I received a response from coupons.com about this – here is what they said:
This issue is not related to Coupons.com’s systems. There is a Fake AVG Anti-Virus virus that is redirecting user’s browser windows when they visit certain popular websites. AVG has posted details on its blog at: http://viruslab.blog.avg.com/2011/01/be-aware-of-rogue-security-software.html.
Users who are seeing this redirect should contact their anti-virus software provider or search the Web for “Fake AVG Removal” for removal information.
We can assure you that Coupons.com is not distributing viruses of any kind.
The safety of our users and internet security is of utmost importance at Coupons.com.
With the number of freebies, deals and offers that are out there, it is possible to stumble upon a site that is less than secure. I take the time to ensure that the links and offers I share are from reputable companies which have security features in place to protect you when printing coupons or even requesting free offer. If you are unsure about a company or the offer, then you should pass as nothing free is worth trojan horses or viruses attacking your computer.
Thanks so much to Patrick for passing this along to me. Back to your regularly scheduled printing!!!!
