This past Friday, I traveled to Chicago to meet up with fellow bloggers and Verizon Wireless. Why? Well, I am one of their newest Verizon Midwest Savvy Savers. For the next six months I am going to put Verizon to the test. I think that this shall be interesting, considering that I have always used a competitor’s service. But, I digress.
So, why travel so far? To learn about Verizon, this new device and get to know the bloggers who are also taking part in this fun event. Want to know what I got? I am really excited to share this with you……
THE TOY — A DROID XYBOARD
Of course, being an iPad and Apple product user, I was a little hesitant about trying a Droid product, such as this. I will say though, that after they gave me some training on how to use it and I’ve started making it work for me, I really love some of the features I find. I love how thin and small it is. It is so lightweight.
As far as operation, one thing that really stood out for me was the write to text feature. I can literally use a stylus and write what I want to say and it will convert it to text for me. That might sound really trivial, but it was just one thing that has really stuck out to me …. so far.
Now, that wasn’t all my trip was about! I was able to enjoy a great dinner with these other bloggers on Navy Pier. I’m not sure what was better — the meal or my view!
I had a great time visiting with these amazing women who are smart, talented and great bloggers (and no – they are not “mommy bloggers” — they are bloggers)!
While it is always great to get away and learn something new – nothing beats coming back home and being greeted by hugs and kisses from your family. And, since it was Mother’s Day weekend, I was even more excited to get back to them. I did have to warn them all that this tablet was all mom’s and they’d have to find something else to play with!
I am anxious to learn more about this Verizon Droid Xyboard. Anyone have any tips to pass along? I look forward to sharing what I learn as I use my new tablet — so we can help one another get the most out of our gadgets!
Disclosure: I am participating in the >Verizon Wireless Midwest Savvy Savers program and I have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product. Learn more on my Disclosure Policy.
