To find the best savings, it is important that you purchase items during the time of the year when you will find the very best deals. As we head into October, here are the items you may want to buy and which ones you will want to avoid!
Camping gear. This is the time of the year when big box stores (both online and brick and mortar stores) offer deep discounts on camping gear. You can find deals on tents, sleeping bags, lanterns and more! Stock up now so you will be ready for next year’s camping season.
Jeans. Jeans are priced at premium rates in August and September, but as we head into October, you can find discounts. You might be lucky enough to find discounts of 40% off or even more!!!
Automobiles. If you need to purchase a new car, van or pickup, this is the time of the year when you will start to find discounts. If you plan on purchasing new, this is the time of the year when you will find the prior year’s models being discounted, in order to make room for the newest inventory. Make sure you do your homework and don’t be afraid to negotiate that price a bit!!
Garden plants. Greenhouses and stores which sell plants often reduce the prices to clear out the last bit of inventory. Just make sure you plant them before they die! 😉
Patio furniture. As we move away from BBQs and eating outdoors, you can find deals on patio and lawn furniture. You will find that the availability is reduced at a lot of stores, but if you can find a set, you can usually score a great deal!
BBQ grills. This really goes along with the furniture as most people do not BBQ nearly as frequently in the winter months (and yes, my husband has been known to donn a winter coat to grill for us in the winter). Look for some great deals on the grills as well as accessories.
Make sure you DO NOT purchase the following: Eletronics, jewelry or cold weather apparel. You will not find the best deals on these items at this time of the year. Just be patient and buy those items when the time (and price) is right!
