I share many daily deal sites with all of you. I take the time to ensure that they are good companies before I pass their site information along to all of you. However, there are instances when the site ends up using practices which I do not condone. Luckily, these instances are rare. It doesn’t make me feel any better, so I wanted to share some tips with you when it comes to these issues.
If your product has never arrived. Sadly, it appears is happening to some of you. This frustrates me just as much as it does you. Head to the daily deal site and select the Contact Us option. If they offer a telephone number you may have more luck calling them. However, most do not so you are left sending an email. Be very clear in the email and include the following: Your Account name, the date of your purchase, item purchased, order number (if available) and your concerns. Be firm, but do not yell at them as that really does not solve anything at all.
Once you send the email, give them 48 hours to respond. If you do not hear from them, I recommend following up – and keep copies of all of your emails. If you do not succeed in hearing from them, you can try to reach them via their Facebook page as well (just never leave your personal contact information on the wall).
If, after 10 days you have still not received your product and/or have not heard from the company, you can contact your credit card company and file a dispute of charges. They can oftentimes intervene and get further than you can as just one person.
This is why it is so very important to always shop on line with a credit card. I know, I know – I always preach CASH or DEBIT. However, using credit cards and immediately paying them off when it comes to on-line purchases just is a way to protect yourself from issues – such as this.
It seems that they all do eventually send the items – but it just seems they need to have a fire lit under them to get it done. It is for this reason that you might see I do not promote deal sites too often – and those I do are ones I do trust. When I learn of unsavory practices, I take the steps to perform my own research and to share my findings with you, my readers.
I really hope that none of you have some of the issues about which I’ve read. However, if you do, you can take these steps to try to get your money refunded to you at the very least.
